Objective: To be the first in the world to snowkite (with kite and snowboard) on the Greenland Ice Cap.
The Greenland Ice Cap is a vast mass of ice covering approximately 80% of the area of Greenland. The ice sheet has a length of almost 2,400 kilometers in a north-south direction and its greatest width is 1,100 kilometers. The ice sheet covers an area of 1.71 million square kilometers. The average thickness of the ice is 2,135 meters (2.1 kilometers) (1999). Its thickness is generally greater than two kilometers and at its thickest point the ice sheet is three kilometers thick. Furthermore, Greenland has several large glaciers and smaller ice sheets covering 76,000 to 100,000 square kilometers of the country.
